Chuck Todd says this possible presidential candidate has had the worst start to the year

NBC's Chuck Todd excoriated one of the most popular frontrunners for the Democratic nomination to run against President Donald Trump in 2020, and said it was the worst start to a possible campaign.

Chuck Todd asked viewers if Senator Bernie Sanders had damaged a possible second presidential campaign over his response to accusations of sexual harassment on his previous 2016 bid.

"Could this derail his chances of another presidential bid?" wondered Todd.

"Bernie Sanders is facing backlash after new allegations of sexual harassment against one of his former top campaign aides," Todd explained.

Sanders was forced to respond to accusations reported by Politico that his campaign floor manager had forcibly kissed a 20-year-old campaign worker after making sexual suggestions to her. She reported the harassment after he contacted her again for a possible 2020 campaign.

Todd noted that other accusations had drawn a sense of a "pervasive culture of toxic masculinity" on the 2016 campaign. And Sanders has been lambasted for what many say was a tone deaf and inept response to the allegations.

"Yes, I was a little bit busy running around the country trynna make the case," he said when asked if he had missed the harassment on his campaign.

"Boy is that a tough answer to defend, of course," responded Todd, "because if you're running to be the president of the United States, If you can't manage a campaign how do you manage a country?"

Todd then said Sanders had the worst start to 2019, especially compared to Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), who has already declared her 2020 presidential campaign.

"Politically speaking," concluded Todd, "no potential presidential candidate has had a worse start to 2019, it looks like, than Bernie Sanders."
