United Way of Henderson County Introduces New Board Members

United Way of Henderson County (UWHC) has added six community leaders to its 2020 Board of Directors: Stephanie Barbosa, Hector Marmolejo, Tom Murrill, Lisa Richmond, Trina Stokes and Michael Willey.

“We are excited to have these new members bring their perspectives and expertise to the United Way of Henderson County Board,” said Executive Director Denise Cumbee Long. “We work across many sectors to improve the health, education, and financial stability of all people in our county. We value the collective wisdom and leadership of our dedicated board members who are passionate about making our community a better place,” she added.

Barbosa currently serves as Outreach Coordinator for the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office. As the liaison to the Latino community, she works to build relationships and foster a mutual bond with the community by participating in community events and by helping the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office overcome cultural and language barriers. She is a graduate of Hendersonville High School, and was the former Victim Witness Coordinator and Criminal Judicial Management assistant at the District Attorney’s office.

Marmolejo is the Senior Operations Manager at Kimberly-Clark Berkeley Mill and has 17 years of manufacturing, supply chain and operations leadership experience. He started his career at KC in the Tlaxcala facility in Mexico in 2001 and was transferred to the US in 2008. He is a graduate of Universidad de las Americas in Mexico with a minor in Process Simulation from Texas A&M University in College Station. Marmolejo also holds an MBA in Global Business from Georgia Tech.

Murrill is a retired veteran of hospitality and service industries with more than 40 years of legal and business experience. He recently served as a Loaned Executive with UWHC. Prior to retirement, Murrill served as Vice President Chief People Officer (CPO) for The Krystal Company. He also previously served as Vice President of Human Resources &Attorney for Western Global Airlines, and is the former Vice President, Chief Human Resource Officer at Silver Airways. Murrill is a Marine Corp Vietnam Veteran, a graduate of California State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and holds a degree in law from Pepperdine University.

Richmond is the Senior HR Manager at GE Current, and has lived and worked in the region for 15 years with a career spanning from newspaper business to innovative technology and manufacturing. Her personal mission is to put the “human” back into Human Resources.

She previously served on the Innovate Anderson board of directors in South Carolina, is a graduate of Leadership Anderson, and has been active in volunteer work for most of her career. Richmond grew up in Maryville, TN and attended Auburn University.

Stokes is the Executive Director for Council on Aging in Henderson County, and works diligently with her team to ensure older adults in Henderson County have access to the vital services they need to live independently. In addition to her work at Council on Aging, she currently serves as the Chair for the Henderson County Partnership for Health.

Stokes holds an undergraduate degree from the University of NC-Asheville and a Master’s in Business from the University of Tennessee.

Willey is President of Hatteras Capital Advisors. He joined the executive search industry in the summer of 2013 and has quickly built a solid rapport with his clients. He is dedicated to building relationships with construction firms that are working within the institutional, commercial, healthcare and industrial sectors. Willey is highly involved in giving back to the Hendersonville community, and he has volunteered extensively with United Way, serving as a Loaned Executive and on a funding panel. He is also a graduate of UWHC’s Rising Leaders program. He holds a Bachelors in Business Administration and Management from the University of Tennessee.
